Thought you guys might
be interested-- I'm part of the BOOMERANG collaboration, which is
a cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiment. Measurements of
the CMB can constrain models of structure formation and constrain
cosmological parameters such as the density, geometry, contents,
expansion rate, and age of the universe. We had a press release
today, so you might be seeing our results in the news. I'd be happy
to answer any questions about it and I'm curious to hear what everyone
thinks about it (BOOMERANG, CMB, cosmology, etc.).
            Our website is: http://www.physics.ucsb.edu/~boomerang/index.html
which has a link to press images, a CMB intro and the nature article
              (we were the cover story).
            Some "news"
              articles can be found at:
              http://msnbc.com/news/399686.asp?cp1=1
              http://cnn.com/TECH/space/
              http://abcnews.go.com/sections/science/DailyNews/universe000426.html
            The MSNBC one was the
best of those-- the ABC news one totally missed the point. NY Times
should be coming out soon too.

ps. The CMB formed when the universe was about 300,000 years old.
